1. Hold the power button down until your laptop turns off.
2. Restart  your Mac and hold the shift key down until the Apple logo appears.
3. Login to your account.
4. Let the updates finish.
5. Reboot your computer again. 
6. If you laptop is still flickering or slow, restart it.
